the Watch telescope by Hughes

An interesting Officer of the Watch telescope signed,
“H. Hughes & Son Ltd., London, No. 7981”, on the eyepiece draw.
The telescope has a 1 ½” lens, is 18 ¼” long when closed,
and opens to over 24 1/2” with its sunshade.
The main tube is covered in white painted canvas with braided
trim ends. The metal finish
is nickel silver and is in very fine condition with no brassing.
The eyepiece has a dust cover, and the lens has a pull out ray
shade. The telescope
has very fine optics and dates to the later part of the 19th
century. It comes with desk stand as shown.
