6-draw compact brass telescope by Dollond circa 1800

The Dollond family name has been synonymous with innovative, high quality telescopes from the end of the lat 1700s to the early 1800s.  This unusually compact 6-draw instrument with its powerful 2 lens is all brass with a black ebonized body.  It measures 26 5/8" fully open and a very compact 6 1/2 closed.  It is signed in script on the eyepiece draw, "Dollond, London."  The eyepiece has a sliding dust shield.  The 2 front element has an original brass lens cap.  The telescope has the exceptional optical system you would expect from a Dollond instrument.  It is in overall excellent condition and dates to circa 1800.
