19th cent. microscope slides by Edmund Wheeler

Two excellent slides by the noted London mounter, Edmund Wheeler.  One slide is covered with Wheeler’s decorative paper and familiar EW label.  The geological subject is limestone from Clifton.  The other slide has two mounts, and is labeled as “Human Nerve Fibre and Sheath”, and also as “Section and separated fibres.”  The slides are marked with Wheeler’s address of 48 Tollington Road, where he worked until 1884.  Wheeler’s work is highly prized by collectors.
