Fine whole mount Microscope Slide Group by Norman

The slides of John Norman are highly prized for their execellence in preparation. These three are prepared in a rarer whole mount style. All bear the Norman label and are described in hand script as: "Large Intestine of Man", "Stomach of Man", and "Small Intestine of Monkey". The three opaque subjects are preserved in liquid with raised black mounts (see photo). This style of mounting is demanding of the excellence of the very best mounters. Norman worked from 1846 until 1882, when his sons took over the mounting business. Bracegirdle’s book describes Norman mounts as: "always of the best quality, and…keenly sought-after by collectors." These three would represent fine additions to any Norman slide collection.
