A very fine paraffin microscope lamp dating to the 19^th century.  The post is 11 1/4 " tall. The height of the lamp is adjustable by sliding it up the post. The lamp is in working order, and provides substantial illumination comparable to -- and even exceeding – the light from modern electric bulb. The lamp is finished in lacquered brass with a painted black base. It has a ceramic shade with a small chip on the top rear rim. This lamp is functional, and ready to provide vintage style illumination for an antique microscope.
