19th century Swift microscope oil lamp

An excellent paraffin microscope lamp signed, "J. Swift & Son, London", and dating to the 19th century.  The post is 13" tall. The height of the lamp is adjustable by sliding it up the post. The lamp has a condenser lens in front. Its distance and position in front of the flame is adjustable for focus. It can also swing out of the way. The lamp is in working order, and provides substantial illumination comparable to -- and even exceeding – the light from modern electric bulb. The lamp is finished in blackened brass with a painted iron base.  The lamp is excellent, in a rarely found almost new operating condition.  It is fully functional, and ready to provide vintage style illumination for an antique microscope.
