Geographia globe – circa 1929

A fine 8” diameter 15” tall terrestrial globe by Geographia.  The cartouche reads, “Geographia, 8 inch Terrestrial Globe, Geographia Ltd, 55 Fleet Str, London E.C.4”.   The globe dates to circa 1929 showing the following names: Oslo (also labeled Christiana), Leningrad (also labeled Petrograd), Peking, and Yugoslavia   Sea distances between major ports are marked in miles. British possessions are shown in red.  The globe is in very fine condition, with good detail and color, and almost complete varnish coverage.  It rests on a baluster turned ebonized column with circular plinth base.
