Felkl Tellurian – late 19th century

A fine tellurian  featuring a “bronzed” metal body with decorative base and clockwork mechanism turning a 3 ¼” diameter globe and ¾” wooden moon.  The tellurium is by J. Felkl of Prague and is signed on the globe.   The tellurian stands 18” tall and is 24” long overall.  The globe itself is in very fine condition.     A concave mirror represents the sun and reflects the candle light onto the earth and moon.  The printed zodiac disc around the candle is in fine condition.  A classic example of this important teaching too, this tellurian is full functional and ready to educate students for at least another century.
