Terrestrial Globe by Krause – circa 1935

A very fine 13" diameter terrestrial globe by Krause, standing 22 high. The globe shows the joint names of Persia and Iran, which helps dating to circa 1935. Austria is independent. Burma still shown as part of India. The cartouche is signed, "Prof. F:r Krauses, Nya, Handels-och Samfärdsglob." The globe is in very fine condition with good varnish, sharp color and contrast, noting repairs to several surface scars. The stand is turned deco wood, and in very fine condition with a 1" compass insert. The meridian is brass with indicator markings. This is a truly fine globe, interesting historically as representing the world just before World War II.
