Terrestrial Globe by Krause - circa 1921-22

A 13” diameter terrestrial globe in exceptional condition by Krause. It stands 26" tall with an engraved meridian half-circle and turned mahogany colored base. Petrograd, Yugoslavia, Russia, and Lithuania are all shown, and tend to date the globe to circa 1921-22. The cartouche is signed, “Prof. F:r Krauses, Nya, Handels-och Samfärdsglob, Under medverken av framstaende geografer utgiven av Paul Rath.” The globe is in excellent condition with good varnish and color, noting minor surface wear and some wear to the base. It has an overall stately impression with its tall base and deep warm color, and is a fine example of an early 20th century terrestrial globe.
