Terrestrial
Globe by Heyman circa 1910
A
4 diameter miniature
terrestrial globe made up of twelve chromolithographed paper gores and
two polar calottes. It
stands 9 1/4" tall. The
equator is graduated in degrees, and the oceans showing currents.
Bulgaria is shown, St. Petersburg, and the Panama Canal not
present -- all help date the globe to circa 1910.
The cartouche is signed, Erd-Globus, 10 cent., N.d. neuesten
Quehen entw, Berlin, Ludw. Jul. Heyman.
The globe is in fine condition with good varnish and color, with
surface abrasions as shown. The stand is turned ebonized wood with a compass insert.
