Compass with mahogany case

A fine compass in a 2 5/8” square mahogany case.  The compass itself has a diameter of 1 7/8”, a blued needle, and a printed paper base showing sharp detail, its glass cover held in place with a brass retaining ring.  The lid has a clasp lock, and a recessed stop bar to prevent the compass from turning when closed.  It is in overall excellent condition, noting a shallow line crack on the lid where the hinge brads come through.
