Mariner's Compass in circular wood case - late 19th century

An early mariner's compass with a circular walnut case, and printed compass rose.  On the very edge of the compass face part of the words, "mariners compass" can be seen. Compass measures 3" in diameter and 1 1/4" tall with case closed.   The compass is in excellent condition noting a crack in the paper that is in keeping with age
